Cape Verde - Tunisia 87-54

Cape Verde paved their way into the quarterfinal stage of 2025 AfroBasket. They knocked down Tunisia in the Round of 16 clash today. Keven Gomes (211-C-1995), Anderson Correia (195-SG-1997) and Joel Almeida (193-SF-1985, college: Brockport St.) scored 14 points each for the winners.
Cape Verde eked out a 15-13 lead after ten minutes of action. They held Tunisia to just 13 points in the second frame to gain a 33-26 halftime advantage. Cape Verde followed with a strong 27-12 rally in the third period to clear off for good. Ivan Almeida (197-SF-1989, college: Stonehill) and Betinho Gomes (201-PF-1985) accounted for 11 points each in the victory. Jawhar Jawadi (189-F-1997) answered with 19 points for Tunisia.
