Matt Costello (206-C/F-93, college: Michigan St.) paced Ivory Coast to the Final at the AfroBasket 2021. He collected 17 points and 12 rebounds as his team posted a 75-65 win over Senegal.
Ivory Coast took a narrow 17-13 lead at the start and added a 19-16 run in the second frame. Senegal remained alive with a 19-17 in the third quarter, however could not win the game. Ivory Coast closed the game with a 22-17 rally in the last stanza to seal the win.
Nisre Zouzoua (188-G-96, college: Nevada, agency: Duran International) delivered 15 points for the winners and Souleyman Diabate (183-PG-87, agency: Interperformances) scored 14. Gorgui Dieng (211-C-90, college: Louisville) replied with massive 24 points and 11 rebounds in a loss, whilst El Hadji Badio (188-G-99) notched 15.
