Uganda shocked Nigeria on their way to the Quarterfinals of the AfroBasket 2021. D'Tigers have been knocked out of the 2021 AfroBasket Championships after suffering an 80-68 defeat to Uganda in the round of 16.
Uganda started the game with a 24-12 rally and never looked behind after. They added a narrow 20-19 rally in the second period to take a 13-point halftime advantage. Both teams exchanged the wins in the second half for the final result.
Robinson Odoch (190-G/F-89, college: Rogers St.) top-scored for the winners with 19 points, whilst Deng Geu (203-PF-97, college: N.Texas), Ishmail Wainright (196-G/F-94, college: Baylor) and Arthur Kaluma (201-F-02) had 11 each. Daniel Utomi (198-G-97, college: USC, agency: Slash Sports) replied with 23 points in the losing effort and Stephen Domingo (201-G-95, college: California) notched 13.
