AfroBasket 2021: Guinea upset Rwanda to reach quarterfinal in Kigali

Guinea booked their 2021 AfroBasket quarterfinal tickets. They upset hosting Rwanda in Kigali in the qualification game tonight. Cedric Mansare (198-F-85) posted 16 points to lead the charge.
Rwanda grabbed a 15-13 lead after ten minutes. But Guinea denied the deficit in the second quarter and eked out a 31-30 halftime advantage. Rwanda retained the advantage in the third quarter. They surged ahead for a 10-point lead at the final break. Guinea however turned things around in the fourth frame. They sank 28 points and raced to the victory. Cheick Sekou notched 15 points in the win. Kenny Gasana (195-G-84, college: Boise St.) answered with 28 points for Rwanda.
