AfroBasket 2021: Cote d'Ivore rally past Nigeria to top Group C

Cote d'Ivoire celebrated the third straight win in Group C of AfroBasket. They topped favourites Nigeria to remain undefeated. Nisre Zouzoua (188-G-96, college: Nevada, agency: Duran International) scored 17 points to lead the charge.
Cote d'Ivoire jumped to a 20-11 lead after ten minutes. Nigeria pulled within 5 points at the big break 34-39. Cote d'Ivoire held Nigeria to just 13 points in the third term to take a 7-point lead. They followed with a 23-point effort in the fourth term and raced to the win. Matt Costello (206-C/F-93, college: Michigan St.) and Stephane Konate (191-SG-80) had 12 points each for the winners. Ben Emelogu (196-G-94, college: SMU) responded with 13 points for Nigeria.
