Kenya - Mali 72:66

Kenya secured the first victory in Kigali as they edged Mali 72:66 at the AfroBasket 2021. Kenya improved to a 1-2 record after a 72-66 win. Both teams entered the game winless and struggled hard for the initial win. Kenya won the first period 22-18 and led 4 points at the halftime. Moreover they posted a 22-16 run in the third period and celebrated the victory.
Tylor Ongwae (201-F-91, college: ULM) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Griffin Ligare (174-G-85) notched 12. Ibrahim Djambo (208-F-92, college: Hofstra) ended up with 19 points in a loss and Siriman Kanoute (181-PG-01) delivered 12.
