Central African Republic have won the thriller against Guinea as Jimmy Djimrabaye (203-C/F-92) scored last two points with 8 seconds to go to clinch a 61-60 win. Central African Republic improved to a 1-1 record, while Guinea fell at 0-2.
Central African Republic started the game with a 20-12 run, while Guinea replied with a similar 20-13 rally in the second period. Jimmy Djimrabaye and Max Kouguere (198-SF-87) scored for 48-45 and Cedric Mansare (198-F-85) closed the third period for a 52-50. Kevarrius Keshawn Hayes made a dunk for 59-51, but the game was not over. Guinea erupted with a 9-0 run to take a 60-59 lead with a minute to go, before Jimmy Djimrabaye nailed two for his winning side.
Max Kouguere and Jimmy Djimrabaye stepped up with 16 points each, whilst Kevarrius Hayes (206-C-97, college: Florida) and Romain Sato (195-SF-81, college: Xavier) netted 9 apiece. Cedric Mansare answered with 19 points in a loss and Cheick Sekou Conde (203-F-92, agency: BIG) brought 16.
