Cote d'Ivoire closed Round 1 with the win over Kenya at the AfroBasket 2021. They posted a 26-24 win for a 1-0 record in Group C.
Cote d'Ivoire started with a 26-24 win, while Kenya tied it all at 49-49 at the halftime. In the second half Cote d'Ivoire posted two victories to seal the victory.
Matt Costello (206-C/F-93, college: Michigan St.) top-scored for the winners with 20 points and Vafessa Fofana (198-F/G-92) netted 13. Stephane Konate (191-SG-80) delivered 12, whilst Guy Landry Edi (202-F/G-88, college: Gonzaga) had 11. Tylor Ongwae (201-F-91, college: ULM) answered wit 25 points in the losing effort.
