Central African Republic - Egypt 56:72

Egypt overcame Central African Republic in Kigali to start their AfroBasket 2021 campaign. Egypt secured a 72-56 win to take a 1-0 record in Group B.
Egypt grabbed a 13-9 run at the start and led 8 points at the halftime. Central African Republic remained tough in the game with an 18-17 rally in the third period, however Egypt took full control in the last stanza. They finished the game with a final 22-13 surge to seal the win.
Ehab Amin (193-G-95, college: Oregon) top-scored for the winners with 22 points and Amr Abdelhalim (192-G-91) delivered 10. Aly Ahmed (206-F-92, college: CSUB) notched 9, whilst Ahmed Metwaly (177-PG-97) had 7. Kevarrius Hayes (206-C-97, college: Florida) replied with 15 in defeat and Max Kouguere (198-SF-87) netted 10.
