KCCA P. - Kampala R. 72-65 There was no surprise when 10th ranked Kampala R. (5-11) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked KCCA P. (6-9) 72-65 on Wednesday. KCCA P. forced 26 Kampala R. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Kenyan forward Martin Ouma (195-1999) who helped to win the game recording 10 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and forward Emmanuel Odongkara (-1989) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five KCCA P. players scored in double figures. KCCA P.'s coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Okumu Emmanuel (-1997) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Francis Kasinde scored 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. KCCA P. maintains seventh position with 6-9 record. Newly promoted Kampala R. dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. UCU Canons were smashed at home by 19 points 47-66 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Blazers forced 20 UCU Canons turnovers. Strangely UCU Canons outrebounded Blazers 60-46 including 20 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by UCU Canons' players. Rwandan center Micheal Makiadi (-1989) orchestrated the victory by scoring 6 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. Peter Cheng contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Kayiira Joel (-2001) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 19 rebounds and guard Ibanda Lwabaga (-1998) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for UCU Canons. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blazers (15-4) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain second position having just four point less than leader City Oilers. UCU Canons lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with eight games lost. Both tenth ranked Kampala R. and 9th ranked JKL Dolphins had identical 4-11 record. But JKL Dolphins were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Kampala 80-71 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Gideon Kasasa (-1998) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Francis Kasinde who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Kampala R. players scored in double figures. Denis Omara responded with 27 points and Austin Oduwour scored 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Kampala R. (5-11) moved-up to ninth place. JKL Dolphins lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. City Oilers smashed 5th ranked Power in Kampala 85-55. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Power. The best player for the winners was Sudanese center Titus Lual who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. International Tony Drileba (183-1993) chipped in 9 points and 6 assists. Puati Kikomba produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and Elvis Bwanka added 13 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. City Oilers (15-0) have an impressive 15-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Power at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Our Saviour. Power will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. City Oilers will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked UPDF. It will be extra interesting game as UPDF is their local rival from Kampala. UPDF held UCU Canons to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 25.3 percent accuracy of the winners. UPDF forced 24 UCU Canons turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Andrew Gang (-1996) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Felix Mukunzi (193-1995) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Center Peter Sifuma (-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 20 rebounds and guard Ibanda Lwabaga (-1998) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. UPDF moved-up to tenth place. UCU Canons lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. (#7). KCCA P. was smashed at home by 34 points 42-76 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KCCA P.. Blazers held KCCA P. to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded KCCA P. 54-29 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Peter Cheng who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Wadaya Blair who added 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Blazers players scored in double figures. Kenyan forward Martin Ouma (195-1999) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds and Abel Omomgin (-1989) scored 9 points and 4 assists. KCCA P.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Blazers (15-4) have an impressive ten-game winning streak.
