Date: July 16, 2023
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Kampala: Blazers (#2) and KCCA P. (#7). KCCA P. was smashed at home by 34 points 42-76 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KCCA P.. Blazers held KCCA P. to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded KCCA P. 54-29 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Peter Cheng who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Wadaya Blair who added 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Blazers players scored in double figures. Kenyan forward Martin Ouma (195-1999) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds and Abel Omomgin (-1989) scored 9 points and 4 assists. KCCA P.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Blazers (15-4) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
