Egypt spoiled Angola’s start at the AfroBasket 2025 beating them 70-54. Egypt improved to a 1-1 record, whilst Angola will face Ivory Coast in their second game tomorrow. Egypt started strong and grabbed a 16-14 lead at the end of the first 10 minutes. They added a 19-9 run for a 12-point halftime advantage. Moreover, Egypt won the third period 20-11, whilst Angola closed the game with a 20-15 run. Meral Abdelgawad (180-G-1998, college: WKU) top-scored for the winners with 20 points and Raneem Elgedawy (193-F/C-1997, college: WKU) added 18. Sara Caetano (172-SG-2003) replied with 18 points and Alexia Dizeko (180-F-2001) had 11. |
