Twelve of Africa's elite women's basketball nations are set to clash at the 2025 FIBA Women's AfroBasket in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from July 25 to August 3. However, to claim the FIBA Women's AfroBasket crown, they'll need to dethrone Nigeria's D'Tigress, the reigning champions. Led by standout forward Amy Okonkwo (188-F/C-1996, college: TCU)—who is coming off a stellar EuroLeague Women debut season averaging 15.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, shooting 43.9% from beyond the arc (ranking among the top four), and leading the league with a 91.8% free-throw percentage—Nigeria remains the team to beat.
