Nigeria lifted the trophy for the fourth edition in a row at the AfroBasket. They edged Senegal 84:74 to prove their superiority. Nigeria opened the game with a 19-10 run and led 12 points at the halftime. Senegal replied with a 26-19 rally in the third quarter as Fatou Diagne (193-C-1996, college: Houston) scored for 62-57. Sarah Ogoke (175-G-1990, college: SPSU) drove a lay-up for a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter and Yacine Diop (178-G/F-1995, college: Louisville) reduced back to 5. Cierra Dillard (176-G-1996, college: Buffalo, agency: Shark Sports Management) kept the hopes alive after free throws made at 70-67, whilst Elizabeth Balogun (185-G/F-2000) scored the last points in the game for a double digit win. Ifunaya Okoro (180-F-1999) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Elizabeth Balogun had 15. Amy Okonkwo (188-F-1996, college: TCU) netted 14, whilst Sarah Ogoke added 13. Cierra Dillard answered with 19 points in a loss and Yacine Diop had 16.
