AfroBasket 2023: Nigeria hold off Mozambique to reach semis

Nigeria - Mozambique 59-52

Nigeria held off Mozambique to ensure the semifinal berth in Kigali. Amy Okonkwo (188-F-1996, college: TCU) posted 17 points to lead the winners.
Mozambique eked out an 18-16 lead after ten minutes. They maintained the advantage throughout the second stanza. Mozambique recorded a 33-29 halftime advantage. Nigeria responded with an 18-10 rally in the third term to surge ahead. They limited Mozambique to just 9 points in the fourth period and raced to the win. Elizabeth Balogun (185-G/F-2000) delivered 12 points for Nigeria. Tamara Seda (193-F-1994, college: UTEP) netted 13 points and grabbed 10 boards for Mozambique. Ingvild Mucauro (176-F-1992) accounted for 11 points in the losing case.
