AfroBasket 2023: Senegal became the first Semifinalist

Senegal became the first Semifinalist of the AfroBasket 2023. They topped Cameroon 80-77 and handed them their first loss at the tournament. Cameroon started with an 19-11 run and led 3 points at the halftime. Senegal meanwhile replied with a 28-20 rally in the third quarter and survived the thriller at the end. Aya Traore (188-F-1983, college: Purdue) made two free throws at the end to seal the win with her side.
Cierra Dillard (176-G-1996, college: Buffalo, agency: Shark Sports Management) erupted with 33 points and Couna Ndao (176-F-1996) notched 13. Marina Ewodo (188-F-1998, college: UC Riverside) scored 18 points in the losing case, while Jessica Thomas (168-G-1994, college: Miami, FL) delivered 17.
