2023 AfroBasket Qualifiers: Egypt start campaign with rout of South Sudan

South Sudan - Egypt 68-83

Egypt opened the 2023 AfroBasket Qualifiers campaign with a comfortable win over South Sudan in Kampala. Raneem Elgedawy (193-F-1997, college: WKU) scored 23 points to pace the winners.
Egypt limited their opponents to just 14 points in the first period to take a 5-point lead. They sank 26 points in the second term to take a 45-33 halftime advantage. Egypt dominated on the defensive end in the third term. They held South Sudan to only 10 points in the period to earn a convincing 20-point lead at the final break and rallied to the win. Nadine Soliman (178-G-1998, college: UNCG) produced 19 points in the victory. Adut Bulgak (193-C/F-1992, college: FSU) and Nyamuoch Teny (178-G-1998, college: Vermont) tossed in 16 points each for South Sudan.
