The most exciting game of round 28 in the NBL took place in Kampala. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Kampala R. (13-9) to sixth ranked Jaguars (12-8) 56-55 on Sunday evening. Jaguars forced 22 Kampala R. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Aaron Eboyu who helped to win the game recording 19 points and center Peter Sifuma (-1996) who added 11 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Puati Kikomba responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Jaguars moved-up to fifth place. Kampala R. at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. They share it with UCU Canons.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: Rezlife S. (#8) and KCCA P. (#5). Rezlife S. (11-10) smashed visiting KCCA P. (12-10) by 20 points 79-59. The winners were led by Francis Kasinde who scored that evening 20 points and 4 steals and Christopher Omanye supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds by the former international center Ivan Lumanyika (205-1992) did not help to save the game for KCCA P.. KCCA P.'s coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Rezlife S. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with City Oilers. KCCA P. at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost.

City Oilers were defeated at home 74-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Joel Lukoji fired 17 points and 4 steals for the winners. Blazers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Edgar Munaba produced 25 points for lost side. Blazers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-3 record. City Oilers lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keep the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Rezlife S..

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 28: Rezlife S. destroyed Livingstone on the opponent's court 91-46. Victoria C. outscored Livingstone in a home game 85-44. JKL Dolphins were rolled over City Oilers on the road 93-58. Jaguars crushed Sommet on its own court 84-62.



Rezlife S. - KCCA P. 79-59

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: Rezlife S. (#8) and KCCA P. (#5). Rezlife S. (11-10) smashed visiting KCCA P. (12-10) by 20 points 79-59. Rezlife S. made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 32 KCCA P. turnovers. The winners were led by Francis Kasinde who scored that evening 20 points and 4 steals and guard Christopher Omanye (183-1994) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Rezlife S. players scored in double figures. Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Kampala: Blazers (#1) and City Oilers (#7). City Oilers were defeated at home 74-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Blazers made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 City Oilers turnovers. DR Congolese Joel Lukoji (-2001) fired 17 points and 4 steals for the winners. Power forward Moses Mugisha (-1984) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Blazers players scored in double figures. Blazers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Very expected game in Kampala where 12th ranked Livingstone (1-20) was crushed by eighth ranked Rezlife S. (11-10) 91-46 on Sunday. Rezlife S. dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Livingstone's 28. Rezlife S. forced 28 Livingstone turnovers and outrebounded them 58-32 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rezlife S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Rin Tueny Mabor (-1996) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Guard Micheal Otieno (193-1993) chipped in 24 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Isaac Athuai produced 15 points and 4 assists and Oscar Byomuhangi added 5 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side.
