The Regular Season in NBL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: JKL Dolphins (#1) and KIU Rangers (#5). KIU Rangers were defeated at home 64-78 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. JKL Dolphins outrebounded KIU Rangers 47-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Hope Akello (183-1997) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Agatha Kamwada (-2000) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. KIU Rangers' coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JKL Dolphins (14-3) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. KIU Rangers at the other side keep the fifth place with eight games lost. Lady Tomahawks were defeated at home 61-73 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a good game for Burundian guard Ninette Uwineza (-1988) who led her team to a victory with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Tracy Namugosa contributed with 23 points and 6 steals for the winners. Guard Stella Lunkuse (-1998) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for Lady Tomahawks. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KCCA Leopards (11-2) moved-up to third place. Lady Tomahawks lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Magic S.. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. KIU Rangers maintains fifth position with 9-8 record. Loser UCU Ladies dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. In the last two games of round 18 Angels were crushed by JKL Dolphins in Kampala 86-32. JTL Jaguars beat Magic S. at home 73-63.
