NBL Round 16 (Regular Season): Derby game ends with UCU Ladies' defeat of Magic S.

Coincidentally all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: UCU Ladies (#4) and Magic S. (#8). Magic S. was defeated at home 53-60 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. UCU Ladies forced 26 Magic S. turnovers and outrebounded them 58-30 including a 41-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Shillah Lamunu who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Matrina Anyango contributed with 9 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Kenyan forward Joy Mupalia replied with 6 points and 12 rebounds for Magic S.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UCU Ladies have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Magic S. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest. Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Kampala: JTL Jaguars (#2) and KIU Rangers (#5). KIU Rangers were smashed at home by 31 points 54-85 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KIU Rangers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Mercy Batamuliza who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds and Aziida Nabayunga who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JTL Jaguars maintains second position with 12-4 record behind leader KCCA Leopards. KIU Rangers at the other side keep the fifth place with seven games lost. JTL Jaguars will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KIU Rangers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Angels. No shocking result in a game when third ranked JKL Dolphins (11-3) crushed 9th ranked Nabisunsa (3-8) in Kampala 78-57 on Wednesday. JKL Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Nabisunsa's 34. JKL Dolphins forced 19 Nabisunsa turnovers. The winners were led by the former international power forward Hope Akello (183-1997) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 22 rebounds and Angella Lokwameri supported her with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by Mpoza Abigail (-2007) did not help to save the game for Nabisunsa. Auma Joy added 9 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Nabisunsa's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. JKL Dolphins have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory JKL Dolphins went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Nabisunsa keeps the ninth place with eight games lost.
