Regular Season Round 16: KIU Rangers - JTL Jaguars 54-85

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Kampala:JTL Jaguars (#2) and KIU Rangers (#5). KIU Rangers were smashed at home by 31 points 54-85 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KIU Rangers. They outrebounded KIU Rangers 53-34 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. JTL Jaguars players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by KIU Rangers ' players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Mercy Batamuliza who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds and Aziida Nabayunga (-2000) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four JTL Jaguars players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Fildauce Namulema (155-2001) scored 7 points and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JTL Jaguars maintains second position with 12-4 record behind leader KCCA Leopards. KIU Rangers at the other side keep the fifth place with seven games lost.
