Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked KCCA Leopards (9-2) in Kampala on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked UCU Ladies (7-2) 63-60. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of KCCA Leopards. UCU Ladies forced 28 KCCA Leopards turnovers and outrebounded them 60-39 including a 31-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Matrina Anyango who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Sylivia Nantongo contributed with 10 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. UCU Ladies' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Susan Aanyu (-1992) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds for KCCA Leopards. UCU Ladies have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 7-2 record. KCCA Leopards at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. UCU Ladies' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala JKL Dolphins.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: UCU Ladies (#4) and Lady Tomahawks (#8). UCU Ladies (7-2) crushed visiting Lady Tomahawks (4-5) by 20 points 70-50. Forward Millicent Otieno (-1995) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Shillah Lamunu chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. At the losing side guard Stella Lunkuse (-1998) responded with 8 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Miracle was defeated at home 53-63 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Hope Akello nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side. Esther Mpongo came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for Miracle in the defeat. Miracle's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains third place with 8-2 record having 2 victories less than leader JTL Jaguars. Miracle lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. JKL Dolphins' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala JTL Jaguars.

Other games in round 13 were not that significant. Winless Nkumba LM was smashed by Nabisunsa on the road 73-42. KIU Rangers won against Nabisunsa on its own court 59-47. JTL Jaguars managed to outperform Miracle in Kampala 70-55.

UCU Ladies - Lady Tomahawks 70-50

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: UCU Ladies (#4) and Lady Tomahawks (#8). UCU Ladies (7-2) crushed visiting Lady Tomahawks (4-5) by 20 points 70-50. UCU Ladies held Lady Tomahawks to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.4 percent accuracy of the winners. UCU Ladies had a 38-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. UCU Ladies brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. Forward Millicent Otieno (-1995) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Shillah Lamunu chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Miracle - JKL Dolphins 53-63

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Kampala: JKL Dolphins (#3) and Miracle (#7). Miracle was defeated at home 53-63 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. JKL Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Miracle's 26. They outrebounded Miracle 53-40 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international power forward Hope Akello (183-1997) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Agatha Kamwada (-2000) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four JKL Dolphins players scored in double figures. DR Congolese Esther Mpongo (-2006) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and guard Hanifah Namuli (-2002) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Miracle in the defeat. No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Nabisunsa (2-7) crushed bottom-ranked Nkumba LM (0-12) in Kampala 73-42 on Saturday. Nabisunsa forced 31 Nkumba LM turnovers. Mpoza Abigail (-2007) nailed 28 points and 5 assists for the winning side and Auma Joy accounted for 6 points and 16 rebounds. Shalom Muwanguzi came up with 9 points and 10 rebounds and guard Mellisa Namboowa (-1992) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Nkumba LM in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nabisunsa maintains ninth place with 2-7 record. Newly promoted Nkumba LM still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Rather expected game when 9th ranked Nabisunsa (2-7) lost to sixth ranked KIU Rangers (6-6) in Kampala 47-59 on Sunday. KIU Rangers forced 21 Nabisunsa turnovers. Strangely Nabisunsa outrebounded KIU Rangers 69-35 including a 30-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) nailed 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Burundian Ines Kanyamuneza (-1998) accounted for 18 points. Ezaga Ayikoru came up with 7 points and 16 rebounds and Auma Joy added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Nabisunsa in the defeat.
