UCU Ladies (2-1) recorded its first loss in Kampala on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked JKL Dolphins (3-1) 82-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UCU Ladies. It was a key game for the second position in the league. JKL Dolphins forced 21 UCU Ladies turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Tamasha Nsubuga who scored 19 points and 6 steals. The former international power forward Hope Akello (183-1997) chipped in 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Sylivia Nantongo produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. UCU Ladies' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. JKL Dolphins have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place. UCU Ladies at the other side dropped to the fifth position with one game lost. They share it with KCCA Leopards and Magic S.. JKL Dolphins' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Lady Tomahawks.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: JTL Jaguars (#1) and Lady Tomahawks (#5). Lady Tomahawks were crushed at home by 17 points 52-69 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Forward Mercy Batamuliza orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points and 20 rebounds. Aziida Nabayunga contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Christine Namyalo (-2006) answered with 16 points for Lady Tomahawks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JTL Jaguars have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Lady Tomahawks at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. JTL Jaguars' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala KCCA Leopards.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Kampala: KIU Rangers (#7) and Miracle (#3). KIU Rangers (3-2) won against visiting Miracle (3-2) 53-48. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Miracle. Sharon Kirabo stepped up and scored 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Akello Winnifred responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. KIU Rangers moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Miracle. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 5 JKL Dolphins crushed Nkumba LM in Kampala 76-50. JTL Jaguars smashed Nkumba LM at home 81-38.

No shocking result in a game in Kampala where leader JTL Jaguars (4-0) smashed bottom-ranked Nkumba LM (0-7) 81-38 on Monday. JTL Jaguars forced 20 Nkumba LM turnovers and outrebounded them 48-27 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Sarah Ageno (176-1996) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and guard Brenda Kayaga (-1996) chipped in 21 points.
