The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kigali: Kepler (#2) and EA Univ (#6). Kepler (13-1) won against visiting EA Univ (6-8) 77-67. Kepler dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to EA Univ's 30. They outrebounded EA Univ 50-28 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kepler looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Beninese center Veronica Keita (190-2001) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 23 rebounds and 4 assists. Nelly Akariza (-2007) contributed with 21 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Guard Ange Uwiringiyimana answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds for EA Univ. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kepler have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Newly promoted Kepler maintains second place with 13-1 record behind leader REG. EA Univ lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost.
Another interesting game for The Hoops (6-7) which played in Butare against 4th placed RP-IPRC Huye (8-6). Seventh ranked The Hoops crushed hosts 82-52. DR Congolese forward Feza Ebengo (185-1999, agency: LBM Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and Rebecca Cyuzuzo chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side forward Belyse Munezero responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The Hoops moved-up to sixth place. RP-IPRC Huye at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost.
D1 top team - REG (14-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Gahini (2-10) 96-53. Kadidia Maiga nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Aline Uwimana came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for Gahini in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for REG. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-0 record. Gahini lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost.
Other games in round 13 were not that significant. UR BBC was smashed by Azomco on the road 86-40. APR destroyed UR BBC on its own court 107-68. Winless UR Kigali unfortunately lost to GSMRR in Cyabingo 38-50.
