Aichata Traore gets MVP of the Week award for Rwandan D1 (by Hoops Agents)

Talented DR Congolese Aichata Traore (185-C-2005) had an amazing evening in the last round for Kepler BBC Kigali and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 20-year old center had a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, while her team beat RP-IPRC Huye (#6, 2-7) 70-56. Kepler maintains the 3rd position in Rwandan D1. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Kepler will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Traore had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. She turned to be Kepler's top player in her first season with the team. Traore has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 17.0ppg. Traore is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 9.9rpg) and averages solid 1.6bpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Janviere Byukusenge (SF) of Groups Scolaire Marie Reine Rwaza. Byukusenge impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 13 points and 25 rebounds. It was enough for GSMRR to edge Gahini (#8, 0-8) by 4 points 66-62. GSMRR's 7th position in the standings has not changed. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory GSMRR managed to get this year. Byukusenge is well-known by GSMRR fans and she already established her position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Kepler's star - Nelly Nsanzabaganwa (PG-1995). Nsanzabaganwa scored 12 points and passed 8 assists. She was another key player of Kepler BBC Kigali, helping her team with a 70-56 easy win against the lower-ranked RP-IPRC Huye (#6, 2-7). Kepler needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Nsanzabaganwa has a great season in Rwanda. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.6apg (best passer).
