The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kigali: REG (#4) and The Hoops (#8). The Hoops were defeated at home 71-83 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. REG forced 26 The Hoops turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Rosine Micomyiza (162-1995) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Ramla Munezero (-2003) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners. DR Congolese Feza Ebengo (-1999) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists for The Hoops. Defending champion (5-1) moved-up to third place. The Hoops at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Kigali: Kepler (#1) and APR (#4). Kepler (10-0) won against visiting APR (5-2) 66-54. It was a great evening for Beninese center Veronica Keita (190-2001) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 22 rebounds. Nelly Akariza helped adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side international center Assouma Uwizeye (182-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. APR's coach Charles Mushumba rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated Kepler have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Newly promoted Kepler maintains first place with 10-0 record. APR at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost.
UR BBC's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after eight consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Kigali, where they defeated UR Kigali (0-9) 47-33 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for Hirwa Sandrine who led the winners and scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Angelique Uwimanimpaye came up with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for UR Kigali in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UR BBC maintains tenth place with 1-8 record. It was UR Kigali's ninth loss in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost.
Other games in round 7 were not that significant. Azomco beat Gahini on the road 70-52. The Hoops destroyed UR BBC on its own court 81-42. Winless UR Kigali was outscored by Azomco in Kigali 74-38.
The most impressive performance of 7th round was 16 points and 10 rebounds by Nivin Lokuku of Azomco.
