Mali conquer the title in Brazzaville - Sep 19, 2015

Mali - Nigeria 73:57

Mali celebrated the trophy at the All-Africa Games. They knocked down Nigeria in the Final in Brazzaville. Naignouma Coulibaly (191-C-89, agency: Regeneracom Sports) posted 21 points and 16 rebounds to pace the winners.
Mali recorded a 17:10 lead after the opening frame. Nigeria pulled within four points at halftime 30:26. But Mali maintained the advantage throughout the third term. They entered the fourth frame up by 8 points 51:43. Mali dropped 22 points in the final period and got away with the victory. Nassira Traore (181-F-91) delivered 19 points, while Tirera added 11 points in the win. Adaora Elonu (185-F-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Nigeria. Sarah Ogoke (175-G-90, college: So.Poly State) had 10 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.
Angola earned the Bronze medals at the tournament. They held off Senegal 53:42 in the consolation final.


Nigeria and Mali reach Final in Brazzavile - Sep 18, 2015

Angola's women national basketball team lost on Thursday to Nigeria by 59-61 and knocked out of the finals of All Africa Games taking place in Congo Brazzaville. The Angolans were winning 44-36 at the first half, during the match played at Makelekele pavilion.
In the meantime Mali and Senegal clashed in another semifinal battle. Mali came out on top. They claimed a 70:62 victory and advance into the title game. Mali will take on Nigeria to decide on the winners of the tournament on Saturday.


Nigeria, Mali, Senegal and Angola advance to the Semifinals - Sep 16, 2015

Nigeria, Mali, Senegal and Angola advance to the Semifinals of the 11th African Games holding in Congo Brazzaville. Four teams finished the Group Stage on the first two places and won their Quarterfinals games.
Last night Nigeria beat Gabon 55-54, while Mali beat Ivory Coast 73-45. Senegal overcame Mozambique 65-46 and Angola won over Cameroon 58-51.
On September 17th Nigeria will take on Mali, while Senegal will play against Angola.
