Rather predictable result when third rankedWidad (11-5) won against 7th ranked USM Alger (9-7) in Boufarik 67-62 on Tuesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Widad looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Tarek Hamdani who led the winners and scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Rabah Zitoun accounted for 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Laamouri Merahi came up with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Redouane Mimouni added 17 points respectively for USM Alger in the defeat. Widad have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Chabab Sportif. Loser USM Alger dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Mouloudia and CR Beni Saf.
