The Regular Season in NBL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 4 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Top ranked City Oilers (20-2) recorded its second loss in Kampala on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by second ranked Blazers (18-2) 76-50. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of City Oilers. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Blazers forced 20 City Oilers turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Blazers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. DR Congolese forward Franck Nyembo (200-2006) fired 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. ex-international James Okello (193-1990) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Fayed Baale (173-2001) produced 11 points and 5 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Blazers have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 18-2 record having 2 victories less than leader City Oilers. City Oilers at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. Important game to mention about took place in Kampala. Eighth ranked Jaguars (7-14) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging 7th ranked KCCA P. (11-11) 67-66 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Abraham Chuol who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds. Peter Sifuma contributed with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Davis Assimwe replied with 17 points for KCCA P.KCCA P.'s coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Jaguars maintains eighth position with 7-14 record. KCCA P. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 11 games lost. Jaguars' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala UPDF.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: City Oilers (#1) and Jaguars (#8). Despite it looked like an easy game for City Oilers, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Guest Jaguars challenged much higher ranked City Oilers giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by six points 59-53. Worth to mention a great performance of Joel Kayira who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). City Oilers' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Peter Sifuma responded with 16 points and 22 rebounds. City Oilers have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-2 record. Jaguars lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. Rest of the games of round 28 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
UPDF was crushed by Rezlife S. in Kampala 72-45. Sommet beat JKL Dolphins at home 98-93. Victoria Crocs destroyed Kampala R. on the opponent's court 82-58. UCU Canons managed to outperform UMU in a home game 72-55. Sommet managed to beat UPDF on the road 70-63. UMU was defeated by KCCA P. on its own court 54-58.



Rezlife S. - UPDF 72-45

There was no surprise in Kampala where 11th ranked UPDF (5-15) was crushed by third ranked Rezlife S. (17-4) 72-45 on Saturday. Rezlife S. held UPDF to an opponent 21.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Rezlife S. forced 28 UPDF turnovers and outrebounded them 51-38 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Elvis Ssentongo (-1999) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds and Suka Fadul who added 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Moris Okello responded with 11 points and 4 steals and Bolton Rujumba scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rezlife S. have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-4 record having four points less than leader City Oilers. Newly promoted UPDF dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. No shocking result in a game in Kampala where fifth ranked Sommet (11-10) defeated 9th ranked JKL Dolphins (6-15) 98-93 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sommet dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to JKL Dolphins' 50. Sommet forced 21 JKL Dolphins turnovers and outrebounded them 73-42 including a 31-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sommet looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Puati Kikomba who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and Mathew Kisakye (-2006) who added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Sommet's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Kenneth Mesho responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds and Saasita Martin scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Victoria Crocs dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kampala R.'s 32. Victoria Crocs looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Kampala R.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of Mark Ngobi who helped to win the game recording 28 points and Cedric Alema who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Victoria Crocs' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
