NBL Round 24 (Regular Season): Magic S. is defeated by Lady Canons in a derby game

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: Lady Canons (#2) and Magic S. (#6). Lady Canons (14-3) won against visiting Magic S. (8-9) 57-42. Lady Canons held Magic S. to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Lady Canons forced 22 Magic S. turnovers and outrebounded them 51-32 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Matrina Anyango who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Mariam Namukwaya (-2005) who added 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Daphine Adong with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds by Nigerian Iriele Jane Chisom (-2000) did not help to save the game for Peal Queens. Lady Jaguars have a solid three-game winning streak.
