Lual's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

27-year old Sudanese center Titus Lual (201-C-1998) had a great game in the last round for league's best team City Oilers Kampala and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
He had a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat UCU Canons (#4, 8-6) 87-80. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed City Oilers to consolidate first place in the Ugandan league. City Oilers has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 14-1. In the team's last game Lual had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He has many years of experience at City Oilers, through which he has constantly improved. Lual has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 9.2rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg.

Second best performed player last round was Jimmy Otim (1999) of UCU Canons Kampala. He is a in his 4th season at UCU Canons. In the last game Otim recorded an impressive 31 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as UCU Canons lost that game 80-87 to the higher-ranked City Oilers (#1, 14-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. UCU Canons still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 8-6 record is not bad at all. Otim is one of the most experienced players at UCU Canons and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.2ppg (#4).

Third place about best performers goes to another City Oilers' star - center Joel Kayira (208-C-2001). Kayira scored 14 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of City Oilers Kampala, helping his team with a 74-52 easy win against the lower-ranked Victoria Crocs (#8, 6-9). Many experts and fans count City Oilers as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 14 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Kayira has a very solid season. In 15 games in Uganda he scored 8.3ppg. He also has 8.7rpg and 1.2bpg.
