Peter Cheng (F) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Sommet BC and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
The forward had a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Kampala R. (#12, 2-11) 80-67. Sommet maintains the 5th position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sommet will need more victories to improve their 8-5 record. In the team's last game Cheng had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Sommet's top player in his first season with the team. Cheng has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 15.1ppg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Mark Ngobi of Victoria Crocs. Ngobi impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. It was enough for Victoria Crocs to edge the lower-ranked UMU (#11, 3-11) by 6 points 68-62. Victoria Crocs' 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-8 record. Ngobi is one of the most experienced players at Victoria Crocs and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#2). He also registered 5.2 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Victoria Crocs' star - Chuol Nyuot. Nyuot scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Victoria Crocs, helping his team with a 68-62 win against the lower-ranked UMU (#11, 3-11). The chances of Victoria Crocs ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Nyuot could help Victoria Crocs to bring them higher in the standings. Nyuot has a great season in Uganda. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 12.6ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 10.5rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Edward Mugabo) of Kampala R. - 21 points and 8 rebounds
5. Joshua Duallo (1998) of UMU - 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Peter Sifuma (C-1996) of Jaguars - 12 points and 22 rebounds

9. Peter Obleng (190-G-2003) of Blazers - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Arthur Wanyoto) of Blazers - 10 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
