Franck Nyembo gets MVP of the Week award for Ugandan NBL

Talented DR Congolese Franck Nyembo (200-F-2006) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Namuwongo Blazers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 19-year old forward had the game-high 19 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Blazers in his team's victory, helping them to crush Jaguars (#7, 5-5) with 20-point margin 82-62. It allowed Blazers to jump to the first place in the Ugandan NBL. Blazers has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. Nyembo just recently signed at Blazers, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Nyembo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 13.3ppg) and averages solid 56.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Edrine Ekau (2006) of Rezlife Saints. Ekau impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Rezlife S. to another comfortable win 62-48 over slightly higher-ranked City Oilers (#2, 9-1) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Rezlife S. consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 8 matches. Ekau is one of the most experienced players at Rezlife S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.2ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 4.3rpg and 3.3apg.

The third best performed player last round was Kenneth Mesho of JKL Dolphins Kampala (#10). Mesho scored 12 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). Despite Mesho's great performance the JKL Dolphins lost 62-70 to slightly higher-ranked UPDF (#9, 2-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. JKL Dolphins can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-9 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Mesho has a very solid season. In 11 games in Uganda he scored 6.6ppg.

10. Haron Alinaitwe (G) of JKL Dolphins - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
