Stella Lunkuse (G-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for UPDF Lady Tomahawks and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 27-year old guard had a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds, while her team crushed Lady Dolphins (#4, 8-3) with 17-point margin 72-55. Tomahawks is placed at 6th position in Ugandan NBL. Tomahawks is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-6 record. It's Lunkuse's second year at Tomahawks and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Lunkuse has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 10.5rpg), assists (6th best: 3.9apg) and averages solid 2.9spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Auma Joy of Nabisunsa Girls. Joy impressed basketball fans with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Nabisunsa was edged by slightly lower-ranked Angels (#12, 1-9) 73-72. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Nabisunsa keeps 11th position. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Nabisunsa managed to get this year. Joy is a newcomer at Nabisunsa and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.4ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 10.9rpg and 3.9apg.

The third best performed player last round was Joan Namatovu (1999) of Angels BC (#12). Namatovu showcased her all-around game by recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Angels, leading her team to a 73-72 win against slightly higher-ranked Nabisunsa (#11, 1-8). Angels can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-9 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Namatovu has a very solid season. In 10 games in Uganda she scored 8.0ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
