NBL Round 15 (Regular Season): KIU Rangers beat Tomahawks in a derby game

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in NBL. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: KIU Rangers (#8) and Tomahawks (#6). KIU Rangers (4-4) won against visiting Tomahawks (4-5) 49-43. KIU Rangers held Tomahawks to an opponent 19.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.6 percent accuracy of the winners. KIU Rangers had a 44-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Sharon Nangobi (170-1996) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Cindealla Anena chipped in 6 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Ruth Letaru (-1997) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Tomahawks' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. KIU Rangers moved-up to sixth place. Tomahawks lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. KIU Rangers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tomahawks' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Lady Canons.

It was a good game for international swingman Shakirah Nanvubya (172-2000) who led her team to a victory with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Sarah Ageno contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Lady Jaguars' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Daphine Adong answered with 9 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals for Magic S.Lady Jaguars have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Lady Canons. Magic S. at the other side keeps the ninth place with six games lost. They share the position with Miracle. Lady Jaguars' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Lady Canons.

In the last game of round 15 She Crocs were crushed by Lady Dolphins in Kampala 80-53.

There was no surprise in Kampala where 7th ranked She Crocs (4-6) were crushed by fourth ranked Lady Dolphins (6-1) 80-53. Lady Dolphins held She Crocs to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Lady Dolphins forced 25 She Crocs turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for Evelyn Nakiyinji who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international guard Ritah Imanishimwe (173-1996) contributed with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Francine Tshimanga answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and guard Grant Generous added 7 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for She Crocs.
