NBL Round 15 (Regular Season): KIU Rangers beat Tomahawks in a derby game

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: KIU Rangers (#8) and Tomahawks (#6). KIU Rangers (4-4) won against visiting Tomahawks (4-5) 49-43. KIU Rangers held Tomahawks to an opponent 19.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.6 percent accuracy of the winners. KIU Rangers had a 44-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Sharon Nangobi (170-1996) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Cindealla Anena chipped in 6 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Ruth Letaru (-1997) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Tomahawks' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. KIU Rangers moved-up to sixth place. Tomahawks lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. KIU Rangers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
