UPDF can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Jaguars (2-2) 75-74 on Wednesday. UPDF forced 29 Jaguars turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Jaguars helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Joel Icumar who scored 22 points and 6 steals. Vicent Mubiru chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was Abraham Chuol who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. UPDF (1-5) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. Jaguars at the other side keep the eighth position with two games lost. Bottom-ranked UMU (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-61 loss to eighth ranked Blazers (2-1) in Kampala. It was a good game for the former international guard Peter Obleng (190-2003) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. Franck Nyembo contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Joshua Duallo (-1998) replied with 8 points and 12 rebounds for UMU. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with UCU Canons. Newly promoted UMU still closes the standings with five games lost.
