The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: Lady Canons (#1) and KIU Rangers (#8). Lady Canons (5-1) won against visiting KIU Rangers (2-2) 51-40. Lady Canons forced 20 KIU Rangers turnovers and outrebounded them 58-35 including a 28-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Matrina Anyango scored 9 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Mariam Namukwaya (-2005) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Lady Canons' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Cindealla Anena responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Lady Canons have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record. KIU Rangers at the other side keep the eighth place with two games lost. Lady Canons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KIU Rangers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Lady Jaguars.
Second ranked KCCA Leopards (5-2) crushed at home 10th ranked Magic S. (1-5) by 19 points 73-54, which is the biggest margin this round. The former international guard Tracy Namugosa (170-2000) notched 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and Ninette Uwineza supported her with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Even 13 points and 9 rebounds by Kur Ajah did not help to save the game for Magic S.. Magic S.'s coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. KCCA Leopards maintains second position with 5-2 record having just one point less than leader Lady Canons. Magic S. lost fourth consecutive game.
