Angola recorded the first win in 2027 World Cup African Qualifiers Group D. They cruised past Uganda at the Borg Elarab Arena in Egypt. Selton Miguel (193-G-2000, college: Maryland) notched 19 points, while Childe Dundao (169-PG-1998) contributed 15 points and 9 assists for the winners.
Angola set the tone early as they went on a 27-13 run in the first period. They held Uganda to 14 points in the second frame to gain an 18-point halftime advantage. Angola poured in 28 points in the third period and cleared off for good.
Deng Geu (203-PF-1997, college: N.Texas) recorded 17 points, while Nike Sibande (192-G-1999, college: Pittsburgh) tossed in 15 points in the loss.
