Afrobasket.com All-Ugandan NBL Awards 2025- November 4, 2025![]() The standout power forward Hope Akello was voted the Player of the Year of the championship-winning champion team Just Kip Living Lady Dolphins.
She received multiple other awards, was selected as the Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and was chosen to the First Team and Defensive Team.
With Akello's excellent performance, the champion team Just Kip Living Lady Dolphins achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 15 to 3 in the regular season.
Akello's excellent performance assisted her team in beating the JTL Jaguars 4 to 1 in the final series.
She was the Player of the Week honoree 6 times during the 25 campaign.
Akello showcased her talent by ranking fifth in points per game with an average of almost 15 and second in rebounds per game with an average of over 12.
She has totalled 5 games of 20 or more points and recorded double-doubles in 14 games on the year.
Akello's 31 points against the UCU Ladies were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
Mercy Batamuliza, forward from the runner-up team finalist team JT Lady Jaguars, was named to the First Team at the National Basketball League.
She also earned a spot in the Defensive Team.
Batamuliza's best performance made her team reach the finals but they unfortunately were defeated by the JKL Dolphins 1 to 4.
She averaged over 9 points per game in the league.
Batamuliza received Player of the Week award three times during the 25 campaign.
She led the NBL in rebounds per game with almost 14.
Batamuliza registered double-doubles in 10 games at the event.
Her 22 points against the KIU Rangers were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
Among many awards she was selected to the Afrobasket All-Ugandan Second Team in 2023.
Ninette Uwineza, 37-year old Burundian guard from the KCCA Leopards, was voted to the First Team of National Basketball League.
She was also selected to the Defensive Team.
With Uwineza's excellent performance, the KCCA Leopards achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 13 to 2 in the regular season.
Uwineza had over 6 points and 7 rebounds per game that season in the league.
Her 14 points against the Miracle were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
She played in the final of the Ugandan League in 2023.
Shillah Lamunu, from the UCU Lady Canons, was chosen to the First Team at the National Basketball League.
She was also named to the Defensive Team.
Lamunu recorded almost 8 points and 10 rebounds per game over the season in the league.
She logged double-doubles in 6 games at the event.
Lamunu's 18 points against the JKL Dolphins were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
Tracy Namugosa, 25-year old guard from the KCCA Leopards, earned a spot in the First Team of National Basketball League.
She was also voted to the Defensive Team.
Namugosa orchestrated her way to the second spot in points per game, showcasing a dazzling average of almost 18.
She also averaged over 3 rebounds per game in the league.
Namugosa has totalled 6 games of 20 or more points on the year and registered 30 or more points in 2 games.
Her 36 points against the Nkumba Lady Marines were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
She played in the final of the Ugandan League in 2024.
