Magic Stomers completed the National Basketball League semifinals menu after eliminating a household name and former champions in KCCA Leopards. Magic Stormers edged KCCA Leopards 52-49 in the NBL quarterfinal playoffs encounter played at the Jaguars Den in Kira on Sunday. The Leopards beat the Magic Stomers in Game 1 before the latter came from behind to win the best-of-three series. The Stomers came out of their blocks early to open an eight-point lead (18-10) at the end of the first period. However, the KCCA Leopard bounced back to take a slim three-point lead (32-29) into the halftime break. Coming from the long break, Magic Stormers stormed the driving seat after taking an eight-point lead (46-38) at the end of the third quarter. Despite the strong fight from the Leopards in the final quarter, Magic Stormers sailed away with a narrow but sweet three-point victory. Only Angella Auma (2007) reached the double digits after dropping 11 points, while Peruth Nyamwenge reached the same feat after scoring 10 points.
