Anthony Chukwurah gets MVP of the Week award for Ugandan NBL

Experienced Nigerian Anthony Chukwurah (202-F-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Namuwongo Blazers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 32.
The 31-year old forward had the game-high 15 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for Blazers in his team's victory, helping them to beat Rezlife S. (#7, 12-12) 76-61. It allowed Blazers to consolidate first place in the Ugandan NBL. Blazers have a solid 21-3 record. In the team's last game Chukwurah had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Anthony Chukwurah averages this season 6.8ppg and 5.9rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Micheal Otieno (193-G-1993) of Rezlife Saints. Otieno impressed basketball fans with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Rezlife S. lost that game 61-76 to the higher-ranked Blazers (#1, 21-3). Rezlife S. managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 12-12 record is not bad and everything may still change. Otieno is one of the most experienced players at Rezlife S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.8ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.6rpg and 3.9apg.

The third best performed player last round was Central African Kurt-Curry Wegscheider (196-G-2001) of City Oilers Kampala (#3). Wegscheider scored 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of City Oilers, leading his team to a 67-65 win against #4 ranked Jaguars in a game of the week. City Oilers needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 10 lost games. Wegscheider has a very solid season. In 2 games in Uganda he scored 15.0ppg.
