Mahamane Coulibaly (206-C-2001) scored 25 points to pace Mali to the first win at 2025 AfroBasket. They defeated Uganda for 1-1 record in Group D.
Mali set the tone early in the game. They went on a 25-8 run in the first period to gain a 17-point lead. Uganda cut the deficit at 12-point mark at the interval. They pulled within 10 points at the final break 51-61. But Mali sank 24 points in the fourth frame and raced to the win. Aliou Diarra (200-F-2001) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds for Mali. Deng Geu (203-PF-1997, college: N.Texas) paced Uganda with 27 points.
