Batamuliza's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

Forward Mercy Batamuliza (F) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team JT Lady Jaguars and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
She had a double-double of 22 points and 20 rebounds, while her team outclassed KIU Rangers (#5, 8-7) with 31-point margin 85-54. It allowed JTL Jaguars to take over top position in the Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. JTL Jaguars has a very solid 12-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. It was one of impressive evenings for Batamuliza as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Batamuliza has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 12.4rpg) and averages solid 2.5spg.

Second best performed player last round was Hope Akello (183-F/C-1997) of Just Kip Living Lady Dolphins. She is international forward in her 8th season at JKL Dolphins. In the last game Akello recorded an impressive double-double of 23 points and 22 rebounds. Of course she led JKL Dolphins to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Nabisunsa (#9, 3-9) 78-57. JKL Dolphins' 3rd position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 11-3 record is not bad at all. Akello is one of the most experienced players at JKL Dolphins and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.5ppg (#4). Her other stats are also decent: 12.4rpg and 3.6apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Sharon Kirabo (170-F-1996) of KIU Rangers (#5). Kirabo scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Kirabo's great performance the KIU Rangers lost 54-85 to the higher-ranked JTL Jaguars (#1, 12-4). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing KIU Rangers needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 7 lost games. Kirabo has a great season in Uganda. After 15 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.7ppg (3rd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
