Hope Akello gets MVP of the Week award for Ugandan NBL (by Hoops Agents)

International Power forward Hope Akello (183-F/C-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for Just Kip Living Lady Dolphins and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 27-year old power forward had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, while her team outclassed Magic S. (#8, 5-6) with 48-point margin 91-43. JKL Dolphins maintains the 3rd position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. JKL Dolphins will need more victories to improve their 10-3 record. In the team's last game Akello had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at JKL Dolphins, through which she has constantly improved. Akello has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (5th best: 14.9ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 11.7rpg), assists (8th best: 3.6apg) and averages solid 2.6spg and 52.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international swingman Shakirah Nanvubya (G/F-2000) of second-ranked JT Lady Jaguars. Nanvubya impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course she led JTL Jaguars to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Lady Tomahawks (#7, 5-6) 92-63. JTL Jaguars' second position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 11-3 record is not bad at all. Nanvubya is one of the most experienced players at JTL Jaguars and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Kur Ajah of Magic Stormers Kampala (#8). Ajah scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Ajah's great performance the Magic S. lost 65-66 to the higher-ranked KIU Rangers (#5, 7-6). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Magic S. ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Ajah could help Magic S. to bring them higher in the standings. Ajah has a very solid season. In 3 games in Uganda she scored 9.7ppg.
