Akello number one in Uganda NBL for round 14 (by Hoops Agents)

International Power forward Hope Akello (183-F/C-1997) had a great game in the last round for Just Kip Living Lady Dolphins, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 18 points and 19 rebounds, while her team outclassed JTL Jaguars (#2, 12-3) with 30-point margin 82-52. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. JKL Dolphins is placed at 3rd position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. JKL Dolphins will need more victories to improve their 11-3 record. Akello has many years of experience at JKL Dolphins, through which she has constantly improved. Hope Akello has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (5th best: 15.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.8rpg), assists (8th best: 3.6apg) and averages impressive 2.3spg and 51.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Mercy Batamuliza (F) of league's second-best JT Lady Jaguars. Batamuliza had a very good evening with a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as JTL Jaguars lost that game 52-82 to slightly lower-ranked JKL Dolphins (#3, 11-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. JTL Jaguars still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. It was just her team's 3rd loss this season, while they won 12 other games. Batamuliza is one of the most experienced players at JTL Jaguars and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another JKL Dolphins' star - Angella Lokwameri. Lokwameri showcased her all-around game by recording 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Just Kip Living Lady Dolphins, helping her team with a 82-52 easy win against #2 ranked JTL Jaguars. JKL Dolphins needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 3 lost games. Lokwameri has a great season in Uganda. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.7apg (7th best). She also has a FGP of 57.7% and 3PT: 50.0%.
