Akello's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

27-year old power forward Hope Akello (183-F/C-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Just Kip Living Lady Dolphins and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
She had a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, while her team outclassed Nabisunsa (#9, 1-5) with 32-point margin 79-47. JKL Dolphins is placed at 2nd position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. JKL Dolphins will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. Akello has many years of experience at JKL Dolphins, through which she has constantly improved. Akello has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 10.9rpg) and averages solid 2.3spg and 53.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Auma Joy of Nabisunsa Girls. She is a in her first season at Nabisunsa. In the last game Joy recorded an impressive 24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Nabisunsa lost that game 47-79 to the higher-ranked JKL Dolphins (#2, 7-2). Nabisunsa is still in a red zone at 9th spot in the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Nabisunsa managed to get this year. Joy is one of the most experienced players at Nabisunsa and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Elizabeth Akol (SG-1993) of KIU Rangers (#7). Akol scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Despite Akol's great performance the KIU Rangers lost 58-60 to the higher-ranked JTL Jaguars (#1, 8-1). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of KIU Rangers ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Akol could help KIU Rangers to bring them higher in the standings. Akol has a very solid season. In 9 games in Uganda she scored 6.8ppg.
