The most exciting game of round 10 in the NBL took place in Kampala. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked KIU Rangers (4-5) to first ranked JTL Jaguars (8-1) 60-58 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. JTL Jaguars dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to KIU Rangers' 26. JTL Jaguars forced 20 KIU Rangers turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of center Among Annet (185-1996) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Rhoda Nagitta contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for KIU Rangers. JTL Jaguars have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record. KIU Rangers at the other side dropped to the seventh place with five games lost.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: JKL Dolphins (#3) and KIU Rangers (#6). KIU Rangers were smashed at home by 20 points 43-63 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The former international power forward Hope Akello (183-1997) scored 8 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Flavia Oketcho chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Burundian Ines Kanyamuneza (-1998) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Defending champion (7-2) moved-up to second place. KIU Rangers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost.
The game between third ranked JKL Dolphins (7-2) and 9th ranked Nabisunsa (1-5) in Kampala on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. JKL Dolphins outscored guests from Kampala 79-47. Hope Akello notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by Auma Joy did not help to save the game for Nabisunsa. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Nabisunsa lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost.
The most impressive performance of 10th round was 4 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by Patricia Alado of KIU Rangers.
