International Center Joel Kayira (208-C-2001) had a very impressive game in the last round for UCU Canons Kampala, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Jaguars (7-4) 59-54. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. UCU Canons is placed at 4th position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. UCU Canons will need more victories to improve their 7-4 record. Kayira has many years of experience at UCU Canons, through which he has constantly improved. Joel Kayira has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 10.7rpg) and averages impressive 1.9bpg.

The second best player in last round's games was Ian Lubwama of JT Jaguars BC. Lubwama had a very good evening with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Jaguars lost that game 54-59 to UCU Canons (7-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Jaguars still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 7-4 record is not bad at all. Lubwama is a newcomer at Jaguars, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Cyrus Wobusobozi of Victoria Crocs (#6). Wobusobozi scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was a key player of Victoria C., leading his team to a 66-53 easy win against the lower-ranked JKL Dolphins (#10, 4-7). Wobusobozi has a very solid season. In 10 games in Uganda he scored 9.0ppg.
