The most exciting game of round 14 in the NBL took place in Kampala. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked City Oilers (5-6) to fourth ranked Kampala R. (7-4) 53-50 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was Mpiya Juf who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Power forward Puati Kikomba chipped in 12 points and 16 rebounds. The former international forward Edgar Munaba (196-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Kampala R. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 7-4 record. Defending champion City Oilers dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Rezlife S. and Sommet.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: UCU Canons (#5) and City Oilers (#6). UCU Canons (6-4) smashed visiting City Oilers (5-6) by 17 points 79-62. International center Joel Kayira (208-2001) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Alier Jongroor contributed with 12 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. UCU Canons' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Joseph Chuma (-1991) replied with 6 points and 15 rebounds for City Oilers. UCU Canons maintains fifth position with 6-4 record. Defending champion City Oilers dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Rezlife S. and Sommet.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Jaguars (7-3) against ninth ranked Sommet (5-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Jaguars were defeated by Sommet in a tough game in Kampala 62-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Jaguars. Richard Mutawulu scored 21 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Peter Sifuma responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Sommet moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Rezlife S. and City Oilers. Jaguars at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost.

Rest of the games of round 14 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
KCCA P. defeated KIU Titans in Kampala 70-61. Winless KIU Titans were smashed by Victoria C. at home 52-80. Livingstone lost to Sommet on the opponent's court 50-66.
The best stats of 14th round was 20 points and 13 rebounds by Mark Ngobi of Sommet.



KIU Titans - KCCA P. 61-70

There was no surprise in Kampala where bottom-ranked KIU Titans (0-11) were defeated by third ranked KCCA P. (8-3) 70-61 on Sunday. KCCA P. outrebounded KIU Titans 52-35 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Davis Assimwe scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Emmanuel Odongkara (-1989) chipped in 8 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. KCCA P.'s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bang Desmasiro responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Charles Isabu scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. KCCA P. moved-up to second place. KIU Titans at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost.

No shocking result in a game in Kampala where eighth ranked Victoria C. (5-5) smashed bottom-ranked KIU Titans (0-11) 80-52 on Saturday. Victoria C. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to KIU Titans' 30. They outrebounded KIU Titans 51-28 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cedric Alema scored 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Chuol Nyuot chipped in 6 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Victoria C.'s coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. William Saverino responded with 16 points and Daniel Odonkyero scored 15 points. Victoria C. moved-up to sixth place. Loser KIU Titans still closes the standings with 11 games lost.

Rather expected game in Kampala where 11th ranked Livingstone (1-10) was defeated by ninth ranked Sommet (5-6) 66-50 on Wednesday. Sommet forced 29 Livingstone turnovers. Mark Ngobi had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Hon Kwany chipped in 15 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) during the contest. Isaac Athuai responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and Oscar Byomuhangi scored 7 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sommet moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Rezlife S. and City Oilers. Livingstone lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost.
