Puati Kikomba gets MVP of the Week award for Ugandan NBL

Puati Kikomba (F/C) put on an amazing game in the last round for Kampala Rockets and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The power forward had a double-double of 11 points and 21 rebounds, while his team beat KIU Titans (#12, 0-9), the league's bottom-ranked team 53-47. Kampala R. is placed at 4th position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kampala R. will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Kikomba as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Kikomba has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 11.2rpg) and averages solid 1.8bpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Mark Ngobi of Sommet BC. Ngobi impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Sommet lost that game 69-83 to the higher-ranked City Oilers (#5, 5-4). Sommet is still second from the bottom in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Ngobi is one of the most experienced players at Sommet and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.4ppg (#4).

The third best performed player last round was international center Ivan Lumanyika (205-C-1992) of KCCA Panthers (#3). Lumanyika scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of KCCA P., leading his team to a 88-60 easy win against the lower-ranked JKL Dolphins (#9, 4-6). KCCA P. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 2 lost games. Lumanyika has a very solid season. In 7 games in Uganda he scored 5.3ppg. He also has 8.3rpg and a FGP of 53.3%.
